Turning Point (Kathleen Turner Series #3)

Romantic Suspense (Adult)

After her promotion from law firm Runner to Investigator, Kathleen Turner is learning the ropes of her new job from none other than assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon, a situation her boyfriend Blane Kirk is none too happy about. But the lessons with Kathleen take a back seat when Kade becomes a target. Previously untouchable, his enemies now know of the chink in his armor – his brother’s girlfriend.

And Kade’s not the only thing coming between Kathleen and Blane. From Blane's inexplicable defense of a man guilty of a horrible crime, to a mysterious stranger from Kathleen's past, to Kathleen' risky investigation into human traffickers, the obstacles mount against a relationship that's just begun to find trust again.

While Blane considers a job offer that would take him back to the front lines in the war on terror, Kathleen is determined to pursue her new career, with or without his approval. Unfortunately, her current case is far more dangerous than anyone knows. Someone close to Blane will go to extreme lengths to split them up, lengths that may prove worse than death for Kathleen.

Kathleen, Blane and Kade must atone for the sins of the past and the present. The fallout will force Kathleen to a turning point...in her career, and her life.

My Rating: 4 1/2 Coffee Cups

This ARC was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Can I just gush about how very obsessed I am with this series? Seriously, I can't stress enough to you all that the previous 2 books need to be purchased and devoured prior to reading this (promise it won't take too long since you won't be able to put 'em down).

So this book picks up about a month or so after the previous left off. Kathleen moved out of semi-boyfriend Blane Kirk's house back to her apartment and kitty Tigger. She is learning the ropes of how to become a runner from the Blane's devilish half brother Kade Dennon that consist of horrible morning runs, random role play (not the fun kind) and logging in hours at the gun range. He's teaching her something she should've learned how to do after the first book- protect herself. You know this wouldn't be a Kathleen Turner book if she didn't find herself in trouble at least a few times. She goes from trouble in the form of a trip to Denver with Kade to working undercover in a strip club to major, major problems with a senator's son. Amidst all of this, the only family she has left comes back into her life and she has to hide it from those closest to her.
Then you have the boys. Oh the boys. Every book I flip flop between who I want her with and this one is no different. Blane is her first love. He's who started this crazy trip for her. After his lie in the last book and the case he takes defending a rapist in this book, I knew he had some proving to do. And he absolutely did it. I fell for him all over again- cough, cough- I mean Kathleen did. One of my favorite parts of this book is a scene where he and his Navy SEAL buddies meet up. It was refreshing seeing him laid back, in an environment where he can actually laugh and joke around. But Kade is always lurking in the background and in this book, he makes his feelings very much known. And not only does he put his feelings out there for her to see, he puts it out there for his enemies to see as well, making her an unknowing target. The one thing about Kade though is no matter what he wants, he would never outright hurt and betray his brother. But as much as Kane would like to be an obstacle in Kathleen and Blane's relationship, he most definitely is not the one that needs to be watched out for. And oh dear lord does this person create obstacles. Devious, devastating ones.
The end of this book is an insane, heart-wrenching, put my fist through my kindle and beat a fictional character kind of roller coaster ride. The type of roller coaster ride that will have major, major ripple effects for the rest of this series.

Ok, so when does the next one come out again??
