BLOG TOUR STOP!! The Dark Prince by S.L. Jennings Review and Excerpt

So this is the first part of my two part Dorian-Palozza!! My interview with the kick ass author S.L. Jennings still to come :)

Dorian Skotos is Dark. And although that brand of sheer, unrelenting evil is a direct threat to her life, Gabriella is tragically in love with him.

Gabriella knew it was all too good to be true. The way his touch radiated electricity right to her core, the way his ice blue eyes somehow made panties drop involuntarily, how his sexy half-smile crumbled the barriers around her heart…Dorian was extraordinary in every way.

She ignored the alarm bells for the sake of pleasure and a little slice of peace from her mixed-up life. She thought that whatever he was, she could help him. Maybe even change him. But now that the proof of Dorian’s true identity and what he was sent for is staring her in the face, Gabriella can’t deny the inevitable. And confronting that truth could very well slaughter more than just her fragile heart.

I'm so excited to be a stop on the blog tour (my first one at that!) for The Dark Prince by S.L. Jennings! I love everything about this book and it's predecessor Dark Light.

Every kiss, every bite leaves a new depth of sensation.  Pain evolves into pulsation; pleasure erupts into prickles.  And as quickly as they began, they spread, alighting every nerve with a singeing heat that causes me to cry out, my back arching off the bed.

“Just feel, Gabriella.  Just feel what I can do to you with a kiss.”

My Review

5 Scorching, Burn your tongue, Hot and Steamy Coffee Cups!!

This book picks up exactly where the previous one left off- so if you haven't read Dark Light yet stop reading my review NOW and go pick up Dark Light (for $0.99) ASAP. Ok, onwards. Gabs, after everything she went thru and learned about herself, finds a picture of her parents, her adoptive parents and her Dorian confirming her worst fears, that Dorian was the Dark warlock sent to kill her. But she's fallen for him, and to be honest he's had a million and a half opportunities to do the deed. So, why didn't he? Which is exactly what she goes to his hotel to ask him. I was really happy to see him turn Dark during parts of that conversation. Not because I wanted to see him go all violent-crazy-immortal-badass on her, but because it was a reminder that he isn't all soft and fuzzy. Maybe I'm just odd for wanting to see that side of him. Mehh. So back to the reason- he loves her. Which is definitely a rare occurrence for a Dark warlock and could possibly get him killed. Not necessarily because he's in love, but because he is the Dark King's eldest son and he makes the choice to protect her at all costs instead of following thru with his father's orders.

Gabs and Dorian's romance in this book has grown in leaps and bounds. Dorian showed her how he felt in the last book by gestures mostly, but in this book he tells her. And man does this Greek god have a way with words. Not only that, but Gabriella learns that he is spelled to speak only the truth, so everything he says to her is heartfelt. This book is definitely steamier than the last (fanning myself) and one scene- oooh child (pulling out my old southern lady voice). Holy hell. They have obstacles thrown at them at every turn and their love is continuously tested. Between the King's power plays, Aurora (yep, she's back and I seriously wanted to cut a biotch), Jared and the fact that Gabriella's stalker is still on the loose, they are in constant battle mode. Amidst it all Dorian is a constant, proving to her over and over again (physically, emotionally and spiritually) that Gabriella is it for him. And then, because he's a typical Alpha Male who just can't help himself, he goes and does something monumentally stupid. I can't tell you what that stupid is, but I really wanted to go thru my Kindle and viciously shake this built, over six foot tall, Dark warlock/fictional character. This stupid he does breaks my heart. And watching Gabriella try to deal with it breaks my heart even more. Silver lining to this- we get introduced to a new character. Nick. And Nick is freaking amazeballs. Seriously. I want a Nick of my very own. He's not introduced as a possible love interest (which makes me happy) but he proves himself to be a loyal friend and protector to Gabriella when she needs it most

I really don't want to get any more in depth than that, because I don't want to give any of it away. But I will say two things- 1) she turns 21 in this book and 2) the very last sentence of the book will leave your jaw unhinged. That is all. Go pick it up!
