This weeks Question:
Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you’ve done, that as you gained more experience you were like — oops?
I'm still pretty new to this whole thing, I can actually use today as an example. My sorta embarrassing confession: I didn't even realize there was an actual question attached to this meme, so technically this is the second time I've posted this lol. But as a less specific answer I will go with the fact that I am a social media idiot. I have a twitter (don't really know much about what to do with it except pimp my posts out) and I'm still working on a FB. And I'm quite sure I will make plenty more oopsies as time goes on lol.
How this meme works:
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using
the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own
blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code
under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as
many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post
that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win.
Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will
showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is
our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you
participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read)
as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a
preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning
to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS
subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If
you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be
followed.
All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.
Thanks for stopping by my post and welcome to the blogging world! It's overwhelming, but fun! I try not to worry too much about having a twitter and facebook page and pinterest, etc. etc. to keep up with (unless I find it fun). I just write what I enjoy and leave it mostly to fate.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible about using social media too. I always forget, but I don't think many people come to my blog based on what I tweet out. I know it doesn't really entice me to go to other blogs either.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my FF & F

Well my oops is that I just added my name and I have no idea how to share it in a post on my blog LOL. How do you copy it?
ReplyDeleteI'm so new it's painful :)
LOL! To share it there is a link at the bottom of the list "Get the code here" and it will give you a code you can add to your blog post ;)
DeleteThat happens to me sometimes, or whenever I'm trying to post a book cover, the size doesn't work, or I'll end up deleting it by accident. I think everyone has those moments. New Follower :)

I am with you on social media. It takes me forever to get that stuff. I have twitter down, but my blog FB site still confuses the hell out of me. I followed back:)
ReplyDeleteAwww, you silly! The question makes all the difference :)
ReplyDeleteSocial media is really helpful once you get the hang of it. Don't ONLY post about your blog. Reply to tweets that other people tweet! By friendly! Say hi to authors. You never know whose day you might make with a kind gesture :)
New GFC follower - and for the record, I'm new at this too! I've been blogging for exactly two months :D
My FF Post!
Hiya, another new follower here via GFC. I'm with you on the social media stuff, there is a lot to learn! Its a great way of finding new blogs (not to mention new books!) to love though as well as promoting your own blog.
