"Waiting On" Wednesday #3: The Dream Theives (Raven Cycle #2)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's choice is:

The Dream Thieves (Raven Cycle #2)
by Maggie Stiefvater
Release Date: 9/17/13

So the cover reveal for this was yesterday which got me all kindsa excited for this book. There isn't even a blurb yet, but it doesn't matter. The first one was so good that I have no doubt the second one will be equally as awesome. Go pick up the first one The Raven Boys if you haven't checked it out yet. Below is the quickie review I did on Goodreads for it back in September:

This book was definitely not what I thought it was going to be. In the synopsis it comes off as more of a paranormal type romance and although it does have some, it is far from the central plot. This book is a fantastical mystery. The tight brotherhood of boys Gansey, Adam, Ronan and Noah are in search of basically (without going into much detail) the supernatural-ghostly equivalent of the Holy Grail. You have this treasure hunt, add in some wonderfully complicated relationships (Ronan and his brother Declan, Blue and her aunt Neeve, Adam and Gansey) and a tiny sprinkle of romance- although the promise of more in the future installments is strongly hinted at- and you have the complex heart and soul of The Raven Boys. I loved Maggie Stiefvater's Wolves of Mercy Falls series and even though the stories are COMPLETELY different her voice and writing style, which I love, are still very much present. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is because the beginning was very slow moving. It didn't really pick up for me until Blue and the guys met. That is when I became completely hooked. Their relationship as a group and even random pairings and their back and forth banter made this for me. I am definitely anxious for #2!
